Welcome to our guide to the world of nursing and interdisciplinary knowledge

As experienced health science librarians, we are passionate about collaborating with nursing and other clinicians to provide evidence based health care and promote health literacy for all.

 

Peg Allen June 3 2007

Margaret (Peg) Allen is an experienced librarian using her accumulated knowledge to develop and provide health information resources for the Hmong. Peg is the current lead instructor for Expert searching for evidence based nursing and co-instructor for Getting magnetized. She is also thinking about a book on nursing literature before retirement. Family heads her list of personal interests.
 

Joy Kennedy

Joy Kennedy is a solo librarian at Northwest Community Hospital in the Chicago area, a Magnet designated hospital. In the fall of 2006, Joy was responsible for getting Peg to come out of CE teaching retirement to develop Getting Magnetized and teach it for the first time. Joy is the current lead instructor for Getting magnetized: Search and service strategies for nursing excellence and contributes to other online courses as a guest instructor. Contact Joy if interested in a 4 - 6 hour local workshop.
 

Pam Sherwill Navarro

Pamela Sherwill-Navarro is a nursing student and librarian for Remington College in Orlando. She is a former hospital librarian, and College of Nursing Librarian at the University of Florida. Pam is one of the co-instructors for Expert searching for evidence based nursing and contributes to other courses as a guest instructor.
 
 
We are active members of the Medical Library Association (MLA), including the Nursing and Allied Health Resources Section (NAHRS) and other sections. Peg and Pam are co-chairs of the NAHRS Research Committee, and Joy is co-chair of the NAHRS Standards Committee. Pam started the NAHRS wiki, where we contribute links and readings.
